Your captures stay on your device.

Atheon Snap for X (Twitter) is a Chrome extension that lets you capture selected X posts, replies, quoted posts, and Articles and export them as customizable high-resolution images. This policy explains what information the extension processes and how it is used.

Last updated: September 24, 2026
Short version: Atheon Snap does not send captured X content to Atheon servers, does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and does not sell user data. Processing is performed locally in Chrome, except for direct requests to X/Twitter media servers when media is needed to render a capture.

1. Scope and single purpose

Atheon Snap's single purpose is to help users capture selected content from X (Twitter), customize the resulting image, preview it, and export or copy the finished image.

The extension's permissions and data access are used only to provide this capture workflow and related local functionality.

2. Information the extension processes

Selected website content Content visible on the X page that the user chooses to capture, such as post or Article text, public display names and handles, profile images, media, timestamps, links, quoted content, and visible engagement information.
Local capture drafts The extension may store the selected capture items, source URL, active selection, and visual settings locally so the current draft can be restored.
Preferences and display settings Layout, theme, dimensions, and local display-calibration values used to render previews and exports accurately.
Session state Temporary tab identifiers used to remember which X tabs have the Snap side panel open during the current browser session.

Atheon Snap does not request or intentionally collect passwords, authentication credentials, payment information, health information, precise location, or data for advertising profiles.

3. How information is used

4. Local storage and retention

Atheon Snap uses Chrome extension storage. Capture drafts and preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local. Temporary panel state is stored in chrome.storage.session.

Local drafts and preferences remain on the user's device until they are overwritten, the extension's stored data is cleared, or the extension is removed. Session-only data is temporary and is cleared by Chrome when the relevant extension session ends.

Atheon does not operate a server that receives or stores these local capture drafts.

5. Network requests and third parties

The extension may retrieve images or other media that are already referenced by the selected X page so that the media can be included in the exported image. These requests are made directly from the user's browser to X/Twitter media hosts such as pbs.twimg.com and *.twimg.com.

Atheon Snap does not send captured content to Atheon, advertising networks, analytics providers, data brokers, or other unrelated third parties.

X/Twitter and its media infrastructure are third-party services and are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Atheon Snap limits its use of website content and Chrome API data to the extension's disclosed capture purpose and related local functionality.

9. Security

Atheon Snap is designed to minimize data exposure by keeping capture processing and drafts local to the browser. Declared website access uses HTTPS origins, and media retrieval is limited to the hosts required for the capture workflow.

10. Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
